Everything I wish someone had told me about shilajit
When I first encountered shilajit in 2017, I dove deep into the science and the ancient texts. What I found changed how I understood the body, the earth, and my own lineage. For nearly ten years I've been using shilajit to optimize my well-being, and enhance the absorbability of my supplements and superfoods. Over the last few years, I've been given insight and direction leading me to the most exceptional, integrous and highest quality sourcing of this mountain medicine. Inevitably, now… here I stand. What is shilajit, really?
Shilajit is far from any conventional supplement. I like to think of it as mountain technology — a mineral pitch, a dense, resinous exudate that seeps from rock crevices at high altitudes, formed over millennia through the slow compression and transformation of organic plant — and even animal — matter. The Himalayas, the Caucasus, and the Altai Mountains are its most revered sources.
This is a substance that has been on this earth longer than humanity itself. An original, primordial energy source. Resin vs. powder vs. extract — what's the difference?

Ritual protocol
- Begin with a very small amount (100–200 mg). This preparation is potent — those who are highly sensitive or working deeply with plant medicines may feel its effects more quickly.
- Dissolve in warm (not boiling) water, tea, or raw milk.
- Best taken on an empty stomach, in the morning or around movement.
